How to Choose the Right CBD Capsules for You
Many people take daily supplements, vitamins, and medications. For those looking to add CBD into their routine, capsules might be a simple solution as you can add them to your existing supplement and vitamin regimen. When you start looking for CBD capsules, you’ll quickly realize that there are hundreds of options, and it can be difficult to discern which are the highest quality and contain only the best ingredients.
1. Understand Third-Party Testing Is a Must
CBD products are largely unregulated by the FDA, and many CBD companies are selling subpar products. Without specific regulations in place, it is hard to know which CBD capsules are safe and high quality.
Third-party testing allows for an unbiased look into the integrity of hemp oil. Veritas Farms sends all of our products out for third-party testing to make sure that they are of the highest quality. A third-party lab tests our products to ensure that the cannabinoid profile is accurate and checks for any contaminants that could make people sick.
Third-party testing requires CBD companies to send their products to a state-licensed laboratory that is not affiliated with the company. This ensures that the tests are not biased.
2. Make Sure They Aren’t Hemp Seed Oil Capsules
There is a bit of confusion surrounding hemp oil and hemp seed oil, because they are often lumped together as “hemp oils” even though they are made differently. Hemp seed oil is made using only the seeds of the hemp plant, which don’t have the same benefits as the flowers. Hemp oil is made from the flowers that contain the cannabinoids, including CBD.
The easiest way to distinguish between the two when looking at packaging is to look for “CBD oil” or “full-spectrum hemp oil” on the label. These products will provide the benefits that CBD has to offer.
Often, CBD oil is combined with another food-grade carrier oil. In some cases, this is hemp seed oil, but it is typically MCT or coconut oil. At Veritas Farms, we use MCT oil as the carrier oil for our CBD capsules.
3. Know What Kind of CBD Oil You Are Looking For
At Veritas Farms, all of our CBD capsules are made with full-spectrum hemp oil, meaning they contain all the compounds found in hemp, including THC in very small amounts (0.3% or less). However, there are other types of hemp oil that you may prefer to take. Broad spectrum hemp oil contains most of the compounds found in hemp, but it doesn’t contain any THC at all. CBD isolate only contains CBD and none of the other compounds found in the hemp plant.
Since full-spectrum hemp oil contains all of the compounds found in the hemp plant, it provides the widest range of benefits for users. This is due to the entourage effect, which is the idea that all of the compounds within hemp work together to enhance the properties of the plant and provide a better overall experience in terms of benefits.
For many CBD users, full-spectrum hemp oil is the most desirable choice, meaning these customers will want to avoid products that contain only broad spectrum or isolate compounds.
4. Research the Hemp Source
Locally grown food has been the talk of restaurants for the past decade. The hyper focus on national, regional, and locally sourced products has continued to grow as people become more aware of food safety and growing practices.
Generally, the best CBD products will come from American-grown hemp sources that use organic growing practices. At Veritas Farms, we grow our hemp in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, giving us the perfect conditions for growing the best hemp. The soil in this area is great for our plants, and we use modern drip irrigation methods to ensure proper hydration without wasting water.
We grow on 140-acres that we treat carefully. Sustainability is key at Veritas Farms, and we even created our own fertilizer to help balance out the local ecosystem and eliminate harm to the land.
5. Compare Prices
We’ve all heard the saying, “you get what you pay for.” While you don’t have to spend a fortune to get high-quality CBD products, seeing a super low price that is too good to be true probably is. The reason CBD prices may seem high when compared to other supplements is that the growing and extraction process is expensive and complicated.
Choosing the right CBD capsules can be a tricky process. We know that there are many great options for CBD capsules on the market, but we recommend always putting in some research before buying any new products. Whether you are buying online or in-person, it is always a good idea to learn as much as you can about the grower and manufacturer of any CBD products.
